A Pomona car accident caused the death of a twenty two year old man on the Pomona Freeway early this morning. According to the Los Angeles Times and California Highway Patrol, for unknown reasons, the man crashed his vehicle, a 1991 Acura, into the center divider of the freeway. Shortly thereafter, a Toyota apparently struck the driver’s side of the Acura, killing the man inside the Acura.
The driver of the Toyota, a twenty eight year old man, apparently told the California Highway Patrol that he did not see the disabled Acura before colliding with it. The reasons for the initial Pomona freeway crash are currently unknown. It is also not known why the second driver did not see the disabled Acura before colliding with it.
This is another example of the danger of freeway accidents, as they not only can cause serious injuries or death, but also lead to other accidents as drivers do not realize there is a serious hazard in front. For this reason, it is necessary that CHP officers arrive and close off the scene of freeway accidents as quickly as possible.
This Pomona freeway accident occurred on the Pomona Freeway near Atlantic Boulevard.
