Four Killed in Moreno Valley Wrongful Death Accident

Friday evening, an apparent street race led to a violent crash that killed four people. The Moreno Valley car accident allegedly occurred when three vehicles were racing and one of the vehicles, a white car, lost control and hit a dirt median.

CBS News reported that the white car ultimately hit the concrete median and guardrail, causing the car to flip. Firefighters at the scene attempted to get the trapped passengers out of the overturned car, but the four passengers died at the scene. Another person at the scene was taken to the hospital with injuries.

Police are still looking for a black Honda Civic and a black Mazda hatchback that were involved in the race and subsequent crash. The crash shut down the 60 Freeway near Redlands Boulevard, that was already heavy with traffic due to the Labor Day holiday.

The victims in the crash were all in their early twenties. Sadly, because of the dangers of street racing, their lives ended far too early. As police investigate the accident, it will likely be determined who was responsible. The families of victims of this wrongful death accident are entitled under the law to wrongful death damages from the responsible party. Even if it is determined that the driver of the white car was at fault, the families of the passengers can still bring a California wrongful death claim.

An experienced Moreno Valley wrongful death attorney can assist in seeking damages from the responsible party’s insurance company. A wrongful death attorney can also investigate other possible avenues to recovery, including if any other cars or entities were responsible for the four wrongful deaths, such as the drivers of the other cars if they are found. This may require extensive investigation.
