2 Killed, 3 Injured in Fatal Sun Valley Crash—Street Racing Likely to Blame

A recent car accident in Sun Valley resulted in the deaths of two people and injured three others. According to ABC 7 News, the incident occurred just after 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of Lankershim Boulevard and San Fernando Road. The driver of a Toyota Corolla was making a left-hand turn when a speeding white Dodge Charger smashed into the car.

Emergency personnel immediately responded to the scene to help. Police identified

59-year-old Olivia Enriquez and her husband as the victims killed in the incident. Three people from the white Dodge Charger were taken to the hospital with injuries.

Officers are conducting an investigation into what caused the accident. The preliminary reports suggests that the white Dodge Charger was racing a second silver Dodge Charger which fled the scene after the accident. Police are looking for the driver of that car. The driver of the white Charger is currently hospitalized, but police say he will be arrested for murder due to causing this terrible accident.

This story is a tragic example of how dangerous it is to participate in street racing. Unfortunately, many people think that street racing is a fun way to get their adrenaline pumping, and do not consider the terrible consequences that can result from that decision. This is why, in California, street racing is a crime. The driver that caused this accident will be required to face serious criminal consequences because of his actions.

It is also important to remember that in an instant, a family lost both their parents and their lives have changed forever. When an incident like this occurs, in addition to any criminal charges the person responsible will face, that person will also be civilly liable to the family of the victim. The family of the victim will be able to bring a Los Angeles wrongful death claim against the party responsible to recover damages for their loss.

The family members of the victims in this case should reach out to an experienced Los Angeles wrongful death attorney. While no amount of money can begin to cover their loss, a wrongful death claim provides some compensation to the family during this difficult time. A wrongful death suit allows the surviving family members to obtain funds to help them handle the sudden financial costs including hospital expenses and funeral and burial costs that occur as a result of this type of accident.
